I spent more time in my sewing room, and I got two of the ruffle skirts done. They are so cute, and the mom said she will send me pictures of the girls on Halloween. This mom is so creative, so I can't wait to see how it all turns out.

Today is crazy. I have a lot to do, but I know that if I just take one step at a time, I will be able to make progress at least. I gotta go. I'll post soon.

Today's Progress

I only spent three hours downstairs, but I got 1 hat done (very simple) and most of the blouse. I need her to try it on before I do anything else.
I've got to get ready for a stake meeting.

BIG SEWING PROJECTS

O.K. I have been on the computer for about an hour. It is amazing how it can suck you in. Anyway, I have been procrastinating some sewing projects, so I am heading down to my sewing room to get some progress. I at least need to get to a stage where the girl can come try on her costumes so that I can get them done. I have a blouse, jumper, dress, hat (1 or 2) and gloves that are all part of her hight school dance costume. I also need to help a friend fix a zipper on a halloween costume, and I am helping another friend make 2 a fluffy skirts for your cute little girls' Halloween costumes. They are going to be Thing 1 and Thing 2. I may even post some pictures today. I'll keep you posted.

SUNDAY DINNER

Yum! For dinner tonight we had Lemon Chicken. It was from a new Taste of Home magazine my neighbor bought and let me borrow. It is done in the crock pot and was so easy. The chicken is lightly seasoned and then you put it in the crock pot. Add some chicken broth and garlic and let it cook for four hours (perfect for church day). When it is done, you take the chicken out and then add sour cream and parsley to the juices and make a sauce that you pour it over the chicken.

The magazine suggests serving it with rice, which would be delicious, but I was in the mood for whole wheat pasta. I even poured some of the sauce on the pasta and added a chopped fresh tomato and it had a wonderful fresh taste. We rounded the meal out with cooked carrots and rolls with butter.

Yummy!

MONDAY

Today is Monday. The dishwasher repair man came and fixed my brand new dishwasher. When they installed it, the "heavy" button never worked. I may never push that button, but if I get a new dishwasher, I expect all the buttons to work. Now they do.

Carissa is off today because of fall break. The rest of us get Thursday and Friday off. I took a short (and I mean short) bike ride. Then, since my bike ride was so short, I decided to take a little walk (and I don't mean little). It was a nice walk, but warmer that I thought, so I ended up taking my jacket off and tying it around my waist.

David came home from work early (just because he has to work from home tonight--so it isn't that great of news). He will be down in his office while we are up eating and doing Family Home Evening. We will try to wait till he has a little break to do FHE so he can be a part of that. He only has to work until 8:30, so it isn't too bad.

Rachel just headed off to piano. Nathan will be taking off in about 45 minutes. Oops! It is the begining of the month, so I will need to send a check off with Nathan.

Chelsie should be coming home from school very soon. So, off to do homework and direct traffic. I just wanted to have something posted. I may end up removing this post for lack of excitement.

RECIPE EXCHANGE

Tonight is the Relief Society recipe exchange. We hold it about every other month and it is just a fun time to get together and try new foods and exchange fun recipes. Tonight, it is at my house. We have always had it at another sister's house, but she got called into the Young Women program and has enough on her plate right now. I am feeling a little stressed and hope that I get a good turn out. (The more people that come, the more yummy things to taste.) The theme tonight is "Holiday Favorites," and I am doing Water Chestnut Wraps, Wonton cups, and Sparkling Cranberry Drink. I also might start a batch of homemade rolls. That way, my house will smell extra wonderful. There is nothing like the smell of freshly baking bread!!!!

NATHAN'S COURT OF HONOR

Nathan had his first court of honor. He is Boy Scout now and I don't really understand all the awards, but he received his Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class. They did a really nice job at the court of honor. Now, I need to sew on at least one patch. I don't think he puts all three on his uniform--but maybe. I will have to study it up.
