Becca made a vanilla cream pie with a merangue topping yesterday. I am very impressed! By the way, she posted that cute picture of her on the right and claimes that she is my favorite daughter.

This Week
This week has been kind of busy, but that is what I need.
Monday, we spent the whole day getting Nathan caught up on late assignments. I don't know how he got so far behind, and even when we were doing things, some of them I know he had done, just didn't turn them in. Anyway, we are all caught up.
I subbed at the elementary school on Tuesday (in the reading room) and Wednesay (for a 5th grade class).
Thursday was the Blue and Gold Banquet and I helped make stuff for that. Nathan wrote a skit about being honest that had a good moral but was also funny.
This morning I went to the Salt Lake Temple to babysit some kids while their uncle got married. There were three children ages 5, 3, and 2 months and they were darling. They were the children of one of my first beehives. It was so fun to see her and her cute family today. Her parents and brother (the one getting married) live in our ward, but no one knew he was getting married. I just assumed that our announcement didn't arrive, but when I talked to his Mom today, she said that she had strict instructions to not mail the announcements out until today. I didn't even get to see the bride and groom because I wanted to get back to get Chelsie off to school.

My 80's Dresses
Becca went through my old dresses in my hope chest. I have only saved a couple, and she thinks they are funny. All of them are homemade, and they have some sentimental value. One is the one Mom made by placing newspaper over Sister Smith's Gunny Sax dress and recreated for Heather and me for Christmas when we were about 17. Becca tried on my Senior Prom dress. Oooh! I loved the soft flow of the Quiana (did I spell it right?) It had a cute floral jacket that went over the top. The floral dress (it is store bought) I bought to wear to the temple when I got married, and the blue dress was what Mom made for me when I graduated from Rick's College. Can you believe that one of my children would not appreciate my 80's dresses?

Western Caribbean Cruise

I told some of you that my friends were going on a cruise and that we couldn't afford it, but I found out that I had my facts all wrong, and.....now WE ARE GOING ON A CRUISE! I am so excited. It is an 8 day Carnival cruise on The Miracle. We leave from Fort Lauderdale at 4:00 p.m. on February 1st. We will stop in Belize, Panama, and Costa Rica.
We will be going with Mike and Luz Stock, President and Myra Salmon, Bishop and Joy Rose, James and Julia Ahlstrom, Randy and "T" Harris, Joe and Mandy Buck, Mark and Lisa Wilcox, Scott and Jamie Ipsen, Steve and Tammy Nordfors, Larsen and Julie Alder, Mike and Jamie Salmon, and more. We have a whole year to prepare. I hope I can wait that long.

Dejunking
I finally have all of my Christmas put in the bins and now David needs to haul them to our storage. Now, I realize that I have a lot of dejunking to do. It gets so overwhelming, but I would love to get rid of some of the "stuff" around here. There is a little voice in my head that always says, "No, don't get rid of that. You may need it." I need someone to come hang out with me and give me permission to throw things away. The invitation is out there for anyone interested.
Well, I guess I had better get going. I doubt anyone will be helping me, so I had better get moving.

What's For Dinner?

Ugh! I think only a mother can understand that feeling when everyone is starting to feel hungry and asking, "What's for dinner?" Most of the time I am pondering the same questions. Tonight, at 5:00, I hurridly defrosted some hamburger, put some rice in the rice cooker, opened a can of refried beans. I have some tortilla chips, but I wish I had sour cream, lettuce, and some corn (I may have some frozen). I have got to get better about meal planning. Is it easy for anyone out there? Any tips or secrets? If I could figure out what is for dinner tomorrow night, could start planning and preparing (at least in my head).
